PAPERCUNT & KLARA G MIXED MEDIA COLLAGES

Papercunt and Klara G collaborate in a sort of table tennis match where they throw the artworks back and forth between them. Classic portrait photography is being mixed with analogue collage technology to finally become still lifes in layers of paper, glue, ink and smoke. The seriesSubjekt is the duo’s first joint series.

SUBJEKT

There is a vulnerability in being portrayed, to become immortalized through someone else’s eyes. Subjekt explores the powerlessness in the role in front of the camera. How the portrait not really portray the subject, but rather is a self-portrait of the photographer. Subjekt is about a humans all layers, some of them visible at first glance, some less obvious and others hidden deep within us. Is vulnerability in front of the camera enjoyable or ridden with anxiety?
